Riley was quite hot and bothered today. I don’t blame her. It was so hot! She was squirming on her sit/stays and at one point she stopped doing auto sits. I had to use the verbal and shape her. After a few tries I took her to the shade near my car, got her some water and let her cool off. She was DONE!
Attempt #1 SNAP goes the string!!
#2 I used her flat buckle collar to save the string 🤭
We’ll try again tomorrow morning when it’s cooler.
Hot dog!
She is such a funny dog. Love how she drinks her water.
ReplyDeleteI know. She’s a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteThese are excellent videos. These are important videos. What they show me is how FAR you have come from just a few years ago.
1) Remember when you got Molly as a puppy and she REFUSED to move with you in the check cord? You now know how to handle that situation and would never let that happen again with a puppy.
2) Remember when Molly was biting you, as a puppy, on the Down? You now know how to handle that situation and would never let that happen again with a puppy.
3) Remember when you started the FC with me and states, "This dog will be the first to fail at LL." You now know how to handle a LL, are a staunch believer in LL, and would never make that statement again, with any dog, any size.
4) Remember when you got hung up in the RC and said Molly would NOT retrieve on command? You now know HOW to help a dog believe you that, "I said what I meant, and meant what I said."
5) Remember the first time you did LL with Riley? REMEMBER, REMEMBER, REMEMBER...with every challenge, every disbelief, every failure, still you have gotten up (sometimes literally from the ground), accepted the coaching, and succeeded.
And bow? You saw this location and saw it anew, with KMODT eyes, as a new training area. You told Mike what you needed and he created these oh so cool upright pipes (love this configuration as the RAT shapes Riley). YOU SAID yesterday morning that you were dreading the Vickster's Test. Yet, still, like always before, you stuck with the training and passed that EXAM.
And finally, here you are, you call yourself, "the weakest link", in our team that is training Riley. YET, STILL, you did the hardest test, first, on your own, with Riley. You thought about HOW to shape her, you figured out HOW to help HER succeed. You ARE thinking KMODT.
Oh dear beloved Mary, YOU are the success. Yes you are, I am SO PROUD OF YOU. These videos show how FAR you have come.
Rejoice in the journey that has been, the journey that is today, and the future journey.
Love you, Mary
