Wow! Victers Test

Well here it is. Not perfect by any means but we somehow made it through. She really struggled on AS tonight. I had to help her a few times. She is doing really good on her downs. We will attempt the string test tomorrow. Oh, just for fun, a video of Riley playing in the water before we started. It was hilarious ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. Pass. Very well done Trina! I notice Riley is working FOR you and WITH you. Your 'wincing' mechanic is smooth which is a mighty powerful mechanics to use at this stage of the training.

Was that Bucks truck? She was watching it hopefully as it drove past her.

As far as her AS, yes, they are breaking down some right now. Understand we, that is the 4 of us, are training Riley at an incredible pace, intensity and precision. She is a young dog with her body changing everyday. With that back bruise still healing, she is compensating for when she hurts. And she hurts still, she's not in horrible pain, but she is uncomfortable.

What I most admire about Riley is her attitude of, "Well, ok, Let's Do This!" She is eager to be worked, I love that about her. Her persistence and perseverance are HIGHLY desired traits in a retrieving dog. She doesn't quit and I so applaud her 'stick to it commitment ' mindset. Riley has, what I call, 'heart'❤️๐Ÿ’ฏ, a something I admire. And know that we four are pushing her training hard, fast, and precisely which requires a dog with mental stamina to learn, do, progress, and assimilate, internally, rapidly. Riley is up to this level of training because of who she is, because of her heart, because of her work ethic, because of her eagerness to have 'something' important to do. She's a fine young dog.

The water video cracked me up๐Ÿคฃ.

  3. Trina, wow!!! That was awesome. I love watching you work Riley. I learn from you. Your wincing at that RAT and the right turn to get her into heel position was so good. I watched it several times. Your instincts on how to help her are so impressive. She responds so well to you. The only thing I noticed because I do it so often myself is on the stand. I forget to let out slack on the leash. If there’s any upward pressure the dog will get confused and try to go into a sit. That may be why Riley struggled a bit on the stand. I still forget to let out the slack and can’t understand why the dog fidgets and won’t hold the stand position.
Congrats on the excellent work you did…on to the string test. Yay!! Can’t wait to see that video ❤️

  5. Ha! I guess it’s a mutual thing!! Seriously, you are such a good handler and you have the best attitude. It’s fun to watch you work teeny tiny little Zoey then capably take on not so tiny Riley with skill and aplomb. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I know first hand how persistent she is, and I’m so glad to see it being used insuch an awesome way. I agree with all of you. You are all doing a great job of training. I believe you are right that she gets tired and sore and her sit fails. When shes fresh at home she sits perfectly watching birds, cows, and people. Thanks to all of you.
